Busan Independent Film Association announced exchange cities and participating filmmakers of “2020 Busan Film Production Residency Project”
For the purpose of building cooperative relationship within film cluster, Busan City of Film has annually carried out this project with UNESCO creative cities of film in other countries. However, this year, the plan is switched to exchange with other UNESCO Creative Cities in Korea due to COVID-19 dissemination.🇰🇷
In this framework, Daegu🎶, UNESCO Creative City of Music, and Gwangju🎭, UNESCO Creative City of Media Art are chosen as the exchange cities of this year’s edition. Following this, KIM Ji-gon, our local film director based in Busan and HEO Ji-eun and LEE Kyung-ho, film directors from Gwangju, are determined to take part in the project.
Director HEO and LEE from Gwnagju will co-direct a new piece of film set in Busan. They are now in the stage of pre-production for their upcoming film.
Meanwhile Director KIM who has been producing documentaries themed on Busan ‘people’ and ‘spaces’ such as <GRANDMA-CEMENT GARDEN> <Littleboy 12725> will capture ‘story of music’ and ‘summer’ in Daegu which is known as the most suffered city from COVID-19, and as the hottest city, within Korea. 💓
These two films will be completed by the beginning of November through each different production stages until October, and will be premiered at the 4th Busan Intercity Film Festival.🤩
